Not that ths behavior is okay at any age, but let it not be lost upon anyone that these girls are 18 years old! They are older than Zooey herself and are literal adults. There really is no excuse.

'My daughters aren't thieves!' Dad stands up for teenage daughter's privacy, refuses to unlock her door until intrusive cousins move out
The line between "mi casa es su casa" and "please, for the love of all that is good, get out of my casa" is a lot thinner than many realize, especially when entitled relatives are your houseguests. One dad recently had an experience that truly exempliflied this notion when he opened his door to his brother-in-law after a messy divorce. It was supposed to be be a temporary arrangement until the family got back on their feet. But this act of generosity slowly devolved into a daily battle over boundaries.
Since their arrival, his twin nieces have been helping themselves to his teenage daughter Zoey's clothes, makeup, and even her school laptop. They've so far brushed it off as "borrowing," but when Zoey's $60 MAC makeup kit got destroyed, he finally snapped. He installed a lock on his daughter's door to protect her privacy. Now his wife and brother-in-law are calling him controlling and dramatic and it seems like Zooey is the only one that appreciates his tenacity.
